A 77-year-old Chicago man stole an ambulance from a hospital because he needed a ride home.
The old guy walked out of the hospital, hopped in an idling ambulance and drove about 10 miles before officers caught up with him and asked why he stole the ambulance.
He explained, "I needed a ride. I needed to get home."
He was arrested and charged with possession of a stolen motor vehicle, among other charges.
