A 48-year-old woman in Texas claimed she was kidnapped so she could get out of work.
An officer found the woman bound with rope and asleep in her car. She told the officer that a man had kidnapped her at knifepoint as she drove up to an ATM machine. She said she was held against her will for more than 12 hours as the man forced her to drive around the city for drug deals.
Investigators found inconsistencies in the story. They also found surveillance video from a gas station that shows the woman all by herself, buying a lottery ticket. The time of the video is about the same time she was allegedly being held captive.
The lady eventually confessed to making up the story to get out of work and because she wanted some attention.
