A new study claims that our bodies know that a big event is coming just before it happens.

One of the scientists who worked on the study from Northwestern University said, "The claim is that events can be predicted without any cues.  This evidence suggests the effect is real but small.

Many studies have shown that physical responses like heart rate and brain activity changes between a few seconds before people see a scary image.

The researchers studied over two dozen of these studies, and found that people's bodies can sense the future when something important is about to happen, even if the people don't know it.

The paper doesn't claim that people are psychic or have supernatural or paranormal powers, though.

Instead, the scientists believe the results could suggest that we still have a lot to learn about the laws of nature.
