Maddie Gilley is 8 yo listener along with her grandmother. Maddie learned to quilt when she was 7 years old. She then decided she wanted to make quilts for" needy kids to feel loved and safe." So her non profit corp was set up and Maddie makes, collects and donates quilts mostly to kids ages 5 - 12. She is currently working on her 9th quilt plus she has many adults making quilts or quilt tops for her to donate.

Maddie heard about the town of Adairsville, GA and their recent tornado. Remembering when Cleveland, TN had a tornado the year before, Maddie decided her new mission would be Adairsville. Brenda Morehouse, President of United Way of Bartow County was contacted and thought the idea was fantastic. Maddie has a collection of 20 quilts but really thinks we should take 50 quilts.

So she is asking for other quilters to help her reach her goal.  She needs quilts by April 23rd at 1 PM so if you want to help reach out to her on her Facebook page by CLICKING HERE.

Quilts should be approximately 48x60 or lap size for a child.
