I have a soft spot in my heart for a Marching Band.. In fact I refer to the band kids in my hometown as "My Band Kids". I marched as a kid..and both of my kids marched.

If you're not familer with the work they do to put together that show that you see during the halftime of a football game..Let me assure you..they work very hard at their craft. HOURS AND HOURS AND HOURS of rehearsal goes into EVERY performance. The heart and passion that they put into their shows never ceases to amaze me..

When I see that a High School Band is doing EVEN MORE than their normal rehearsal/performance.. and reaching out to make their community and our world a better place.. THAT needs some attention.  The message below was posted on our facebook page..and I just wanted to help them get the word out.

Ringgold Band LogoIt's hard to believe that 18 months ago that our Ringgold community and school encountered one of the most challenging situations we could have possibly imagined.

We as a community, school and band program were blessed beyond words by the generosity of people from both near and far. We, as a booster program would like to return the rays of sunshine that shone down on us during those darkest days.

People are beginning to get into their homes and are in need of cleaning supplies so we are looking to collect cleaning items as well as a few other needed items. Suggested Items for the area are new blankets, non-perishable can goods, first aid supplies, disposable diapers, baby formula, pet food, cleaning supplies ie, latex/non-latex or work gloves, mops, brooms, large garbage bags, sponges, scrub brushes, scour pads, dust masks, etc. We will be collecting donations today, Wednesday and tomorrow from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and on Saturday from 12 noon until 3 pm. The trailer is set at the baseball field and we will also have a tent set up in the main parking lot of the school. Any help with getting the word out would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance. Ringgold Band and Ringgold Band Boosters, Inc.
