13th Annual Tony O’Rear Bowl for Life
When Tony was 11 years old he was diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia, a disease that prevents bone marrow from producing platelets properly. Despite vigorous treatment including various medications and a bone marrow transplant, Tony developed several complications and, sadly passed away at the age of 12. Although Tony’s outcome is not what we wanted, we are convinced that St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital provided the most outstanding treatment and did everything in their power to save Tony. St Jude was compassionate not only for Tony but for all of the children at St. Jude. It is because of that compassion that we will always love St. Jude and will strive to help them fight childhood cancer.
The 13th annual Tony O’Rear Bowl for Life is Sunday February 10, 2013 at The Holiday Bowl on 5518 Brainerd Road. There are two timeslots, 11a and 2p.
