DID YOU KNOW:

BLAKE SHELTON ALMOST QUIT THE VOICE?!?!?!?

Photo:  NBC TV

Blake Shelton was everywhere in 2012, especially toward the end of the year when he was balancing The Voice, his music career and taping his Christmas special. The pressure was so intense that Blake actually tried to quit his hit NBC show.

He said, "Oh my God. It sucked. I don't care who wants me to say that or not. I mean, I was doing season three of The Voice, season four of The Voice, CMAs, and my Christmas special all within like three weeks of each other. And there was one point where I called my manager, and was like, 'That's it. I quit. I just quit. Figure it out. I'm going home.'"

Blake has previously voiced his displeasure with The Voice doing back-to-back seasons, which he says makes it impossible for him to tour.

So far, Blake has one date on the books for 2013 -- a March 15th show at the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo.

AIRPORT CLEANER TURNS IN IPAD AND $13,000 CASH

A man who runs a cleaning service at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Florida not only turned in an iPad he found -- he also turned in an envelope filled with $13,000 in cash. Patrick Morgan of Patrick's Cleaning Service of Plantation said he was tidying up at a bar in Terminal 1 on December 19th when he found the iPad along with an envelope. He called security, who determined the amount of cash that was in the envelope. Just minutes later, a man ran up to Morgan and reported his iPad missing. According to airport officials, the man gave Morgan $60 for his honesty, which he then gave to a homeless woman. Morgan said, "She was grateful. But she was bugging me every day for money." The cleaning company that sub-contracts Morgan's service gave him another $625 for his honesty and the airport put up a plaque to honor Morgan. The airport's deputy director said, "We need more people like Patrick in this airport and in society nowadays." (Sun-Sentinel)

LETTING OUT YOUR ANGER IS GOOD FOR YOU

Shout and let it all out-new German research finds that keeping in negative emotions such as fear, anger and anxiety can increase your risk for cardiovascular disease, heart attack, and stroke. An analysis of 22-studies covering more than six-thousand patients revealed that repressors, or people who bottle up their emotions, have a higher heart rate and pulse ratio than non-repressors. Study author Marcus Mund, Ph.D., says that repressors also show more signs of stress than non-repressors. Scientists say this may happen because chronically repressing negative thoughts makes the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, the part of the brain that controls your reactions to stress, become hyperactive.
